Gelato!!!!!

Yum, gelato! One of Italy’s most famous desserts! This type of ice cream can be found all over the world but is no match compared to Rome’s gelato. Served in either a cup or a cone, this amazing dessert looks just like ice cream but tastes ten times better! It is said that San Crispino, located near the Trevi fountain, serves the best gelato in Rome!

Pizza!!!

Pizza can be found and eaten anywhere but nothing beats the taste of Roman Pizza! This pizza has a very thin crust and is best when cooked in a wood burning oven. You are likely to choose between two options: rossa and bianca pizza. Bianca, also known as white, pizza is served without the tomato sauce where rossa, or red, pizza is typically served with tomato sauce.

Trevi Fountain

Many of you have heard of the largest and most famous Baroque fountain in Rome, the Trevi Fountain! It was designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732 and was completed 30 years later in 1762. By resembling a stage set, it has become the star in many films that were shot in Rome. As a tradition, many visitors make a wish on a coin and throw it in the fountain.



Leaning Tower of Pisa

Everyone knows of the leaning tower of Pisa. But have you ever wondered why it leans? It started to lean during its construction due to unstable subsoil. It took about 177 years to finish the building. The stones in the structure ended up aligning with each other, therefore it was decided that the reconstruction of the tower would be harmful. It is a great tourist attraction you can't miss!

Pantheon

The Pantheon was originally built as a temple to the Olympian gods, it is one of the most magnificent monuments of Rome. It was reconstructed as a church and now is a major tourist attraction in Rome.

Colosseum

Also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, the Colosseum was Rome's greatest arena. Its outer wall stands 159 feet high with a floor of 280 by 175 feet. The floor was always filled with performances of acrobats and battles of gladiators and wild animals. It is a great historic place to see since most of the stadiums today are based from the structure of this arena.
